These affiliations assist in organizing various professional events and for networking with the Industry so as to bridge the gap between Academia & Industry.

The Department conducts various Workshops, Seminars, Guest Lectures, and Industrial visits for the students. The Department has active linkages with Industry to acquaint students with practical knowledge of the operational activities of the organisations. The Department motivates the students to enhance their subject knowledge, technical skills, leadership skills, sports and co-curricular activity participation so as to develop their overall personality.

ABOUT OUR FACULTY

The Department of M.Com. (Banking & Finance) has dedicated and eminent faculty with a blend of experienced dynamic faculty members. The faculty members are well qualified and few of them are awarded Ph.D degree. Many faculty are pursuing Ph.D from various reputed Universities.

Our Faculty members are having expertise in various fields of specialization like Accountancy, Taxation, Financial Markets and Management. Our faculty members are the authors of many books and published research papers in National and International Journals.

Department of M.Com focuses on building conviction with impartiality and modesty, create an enabling environment for innovative thought processes and nurture open mindedness, equitability and perseverance. Commerce is one course which aims at giving basic understanding about business with an ability to work with various practical dimensions of accounting and taxation. We at VSIT encourage our teachers to implement naïve approaches in order to make this subject even more interesting, and help students in achieving their goals easily.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. A learner for being eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Programme i.e. Master of Commerce, shall have passed the examination for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (three years/Six Semester integrated course) or the degree B.Com. (Old Course) or the other Semester based Programmes i.e. Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Insurance) or Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) or Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Markets) or Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.) of this University, or an examination of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto.
  2. Every candidate admitted to the degree course in the constituent/affiliated college/recognized institution, conducting the course, shall have to register himself/herself with the University.

SIGNIFICANCE

Master of Commerce program provides an avenue from general education to professional education. The two year (four semesters) Master of Commerce (Banking and Finance) degree aims at:

  1. Preparing students to exploit opportunities, being newly created in Banking and Finance as a profession.
  2. To provide a strong understanding of fundamentals about Accountancy & other financial services to the students and to give an adequate exposure to operational environment in the field of Banking and Finance.
  3. To inculcate training, and practical approach, by organizing industrial visits, summer placements and using modem technology in teaching the students in the field of Banking & Finance.
