“Education is not the learning of facts, it’s rather the training of the mind to think…”

Konkan…a place that conjures up images of long stretches of clean beaches, huge varieties of fish delicacies, narrow winding roads, rice fields and small beautiful villages. A huge portion of my childhood till the SSC was spent in one such beautiful place called Devgad.

Time Management was inculcated in us organically, as we used to follow a disciplined lifestyle. Early morning farming, school at noon and playing cricket in the evening, all resulted in understanding time management and eventually following it.

Teachers played an important role in building my confidence. Their motivation encouraged me to participate in various elocution competition and now, I believe that I enjoy hosting and anchoring at various college functions.

I shifted to Mumbai for Higher studies in 1995 and admitted in Khalsa college to pursue B.Sc. in Physics. Compact spaces in Mumbai made me learn two most important things of life:

  • “sharing is caring”
  • Adjustment
  • During my college days, I started performing in college plays. One of the best moments of my life is when I was awarded as the “Best Actor” for the role of a teacher. It never crossed my mind at that time that the role in the drama will become my future aspiration.

My career as a teacher began when I joined Khalsa college as a lecturer. Sharing and learning from professors was an achievement for me.

After 4 years, Dr. Ajit Naik wanted me to become part of the “Brand in Education” in Vidyalankar School of Information Technology.

It was different world for me that emphasized on technology, student centric approach and student delight. These policies updated me to teacher 2.0. Vidyalankar works sincerely towards student’s expectations and nurturing each one of them to achieve their goals aesthetically.

I have not missed single NSS camp in my life. NSS develops a student to become an independent and proactive human being of a society.

I was a Student Council convenor for 5 years that evolved me as a leader as I conducted various activities. I am still in touch with my council students who are alumni now.

I am also handling the admission process of VSIT from the last 5 years with 100% admission status. During this time, parents and students are anxious related to their future, subject and many more general things. Guiding them through the admission process and solving their queries is one of my priorities.

I am also heading the Electronics and Mathematics Cluster of IT Dept. that includes many beyond syllabus activities like Bridge courses, Industrial Visits, Guest lectures, Value Added Courses for the betterment of the students.
